LUME, the restaurant led by chef Luigi Taglienti, has been awarded a Michelin Star at the presentation of the Michelin Guide 2017 – the 62th Italian edition – at the Teatro Regio in Parma.

This important award comes just five months after the restaurant opened its doors and recognizes the fantastic work of chef Taglienti and his team as well as the contribution of MB America, who designed and created the restaurant.

The Michelin Guide gave the following explanation for the decision: “The very name of LUME is indicative of the key role light plays in the restaurant, courtesy of the large windows. The kitchen revolves around the big personality of chef Luigi Taglienti, who serves up modern, creative dishes which draw on both Lombardy and Liguria, his home region.”

“It’s a lovely surprise. I’m delighted and honoured with this award, which will spur us on to be even better. We’re an Italian restaurant and we want to be an ambassador for Italian excellence in the international domain.” Executive chef Luigi Taglienti commented the award.

LUME is part of W37, an exclusive, multi-functional complex set in the industrial setting of the former Richard Ginori factory, in the Naviglio Grande area of Milan.
